In the case of the girl, the lighting on her and the lack of shadow works to her favor, but if the Unicorn were placed farther away, or if it had shadows itself, I think it would seem a lot better.

I like the non detail of it all. If it were all detailed, it would seem to close to home. It makes it seem somewhat like a fantasy world (Which is what it is).

I love this picture, I've started to collect the Lincon folders, and this is definatly my favourite. Too bad I coulden't show up. I'd like to see this one under a UV light, cause I remember that the dragon for 2005 was very neat in the robotrace room.
