Variations on a Theme Comics
First Strip:
-There, the lawn is all done. But where did I put my car?
-Ah, there it is. I happened to lay the lawn over it. Sad, I'll have to hammer it down so the lawn is nice and flat.
-Opsie, the car horn got stuck. Aw well, now the lawn is nice and flat.
-Nice lawn you've laid, but you forgot your car on our drive. And by the way, have you seen our domestic elephant?
Second Strip
-Gustav, von Eiffel, I presume? My name is Juri Gagarin. I heard you wanted a railroad built?
-There, all done. Opsie, where did I put my rocket ship? Seems I lay the rails right over it. I'd better beat it down so that the rail is nice and smooth.
-All done! That was quick!
-This is Gustav von Eiffel, compliments on the nice railroad, but you forgot your rocket ship on my drive. And by the way, have you seen my tower anywhere?
Third Strip
Gluff-Gluff the giant is building a bridge between the Earth and Mars. "There, the bridge is ready. Now, where did I put my bowling ball?"
"Oh, seems I put it under the bridge. I'd better pound it nice and smooth."
"There, not to bad if I say so myself!"
"Hi, I'm Juri Gagarin. Nice bridge you've built. By the way, have you seen the moon around?"
Fourth Strip
"I, Banging Beaver, put carpet in wig-wam. But where is my buffalo?"
"Oh, buffalo under carpet. I better pound it until it is nice and flat."
"Ugh, such noise!"
"Good day to you sir. My name is President Grant. Nice carpet you've put in. By the way, have you seen General Custer and his army around here?"

(view all 17 comments)i've seen a very similar story before: guy is installing carpet, when he's done he sees a bump, assumes it's his pack of cigarettes, so he flattens it, then finds out it was a pet bird...
