There is no left hand in Japan. Right hand on the "upper" part of the handle, left hand on the "lower". Check it out if you like... Still, mirroring the image would sort that out though... Koriandr has a male twin, Kirian, who looks identical. There exists a not-too-successful montage with both of them standing side-to-side, made from a simple mirror-image of this one. Samurai, regardless of handedness, *always* carried the sword on the left hip. It was *always* wielded "right handed" when held using both hands... meaning right hand just under the hilt, and the left hand at the bottom, near what western swords refer to as the pommel (japanese swords typically didn't need any extra weight to counter-balance the sword, so they don't really have an enlarged pommel). This was done to give extra leverage on the blade, and to allow it to be swung extremely quickly in snap motions where one hand would go one direction while the other in the opposite. The picture is good, and if im not mistaken she doesnt appear to be an expert with swords. So perhaps shes just holding it the most comfortable way, she looks like shes trying to hold someone off. And she looks a little afraid or nervous, Im guessing shes a novice and doesnt know any better. So stop worrying about such mundane details. The picture is awesome. Umm, u got it allwrong, the right hand should be on upper position, and the left should be at the end of the hilt, by the way...nice drawing, heh heh heh
