I really like books of Marion Zimmer-Bradley and this one is my favorite. It's so... that ! Also Preciosa (the hawk) is not gonna hurt her, good guess Silver_dragon.

it reminds me of this books i've read. about a girl who has liek animal magic in her, and she is connected to to all of these animals at once.....very cool

I think the hawk is their to help, it looks like it will land on the rock by her. It seems the bird is called to her by her sadness, or that she is the hawk and that is why their is no reflection.

it doesn't look like the hawk is stiking, also the name "hawkmistress", and wouldn't she be able to see the reflection of the hawk.........it's a stunning peice of work
